Turndown Audit vs Corpay Lodging for crews

Corpay Lodging (formerly CLC) gives your crews a discount at hotels in its network. We get the hotels near your job to bid for it. How they compare.

Corpay Lodging, which most crews still know as CLC, is a lodging discount program. Your company signs up, your crews get cards or the app, and they book at hotels in the CLC network. Corpay says members save off each hotel’s lowest published rate, meaning the rate on the hotel’s own website.

It works, and plenty of crews use it. What it doesn’t do is make the hotels near your job compete for your rooms.

How Corpay sets the price

Your crew gets the network rate at whichever network hotel they pick. Corpay’s network is mostly mid-scale and economy hotels. If the motel closest to the site isn’t in it, there’s no rate there. Corpay also negotiates project rates for large projects.

On cost, Corpay’s FAQ says its basic program is free to join. Its custom program charges “a small fee per room night” when you use CLC’s rates.

How we set the price

We start from your job, not from a network. You send us the site address, the rooms and the dates. Every hotel within driving distance of the site gets the same written request, whether it’s a chain, an independent motel or an extended stay. Then we call them.

They bid against each other. Each hotel sees where it ranks and can lower its rate before the deadline. You see every bid as it comes in (here’s a sample) and pick the one you want. Your crew books at that rate.

It costs your company nothing. The hotel you pick pays us a commission, and the rate you see is the rate you pay.

Use both

Plenty of companies keep a card program for one-off trips and drive-through nights. For a job where the crew is parked in one town for weeks, send it to us first and compare the bids with what your card gets you.
